Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many books may a student borrow at a time?  Students may borrow 1 book in Kindergarten and First Grade. Students may borrow 2 books from Second Grade through Fifth Grade. We also have overnight magazine loans for students in grades 2-5.

2. How long may students borrow books for?  Students may borrow books for one six day cycle. Students may renew books a maximun of four times.

3. How often do students visit the library?   Each class will visit the library at least one time during the 6 Day Cycle. Students are welcome to visit the library on day 1,2,3 at HPE and days 4,5,6 at GWF any time  to exchange books.

4. What happens if a student loses or damages a book?   If a student loses a book, please report it to the library. We will check our shelves if a student thinks s/he has  returned the book. If the book is lost or damaged, we will require that a replacement copy must be purchased. A  note will be sent home notifying parents of the cost of the replacement.
