• Student Learning Outcomes:

    Upon the successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

    ~Demonstrate an understanding of the graphic design problem-solving methodology.

    ~Demonstrate an understanding of and be able to use the stages of graphic design methodology: ideation, thumbnails, roughs, comprehensives, and final art.

    ~Participate in brainstorming and the critique.

    ~Modify designs after the critique.

    ~Demonstrate an understanding of the use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator software to create and manipulate imagery.

    ~Demonstrate an understanding of and be able to use the visual elements of design to produce successful graphics.

    ~Demonstrate an understanding of and be able to use various graphic design terms and techniques.

    ~Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate computer peripherals, including the printer, scanner, etc.

    ~Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of planning, following schedules.

    ~Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of methods, procedures, and requirements for properly preparing materials for individual and group critiques and displays.

    ~Demonstrate a basic understanding of the History of Graphic Design.
