August 2026

Dear Holland Patent School District Community,

As we begin a new school year, we remain committed to our mission, vision, and core values that guide us each day. Our focus continues to center on nurturing curiosity, strengthening character, and inspiring lifelong learning.

Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive learning environment where students become civic-minded, resilient critical thinkers and problem solvers. Our vision is to be a leading educational organization where students and staff are excited to grow and collaborate. This year brings tremendous potential, and we are excited to build on the progress, determination and shared values that have shaped our school community.

From expanding student opportunities to enhancing our infrastructure and technology, we are building spaces that spark creativity, inspire learning and strengthen connections. Throughout the summer our teachers engaged in professional learning and engaged in curriculum development to prepare for the upcoming school year.

Our district continues to expand academic opportunities that help students challenge themselves and prepare for the future. Programs like Early College Access give students the chance to explore their interests, earn college credit and build a strong foundation. We remain committed to guiding the next generation toward success with purpose — supporting students as they discover their strengths, pursue their goals and prepare for life beyond school.

To be a Golden Knight means to stand tall with integrity, showing kindness and courage, and lifting each other up. It’s about being part of a legacy built on respect, perseverance, and pride. It means inspiring confidence and curiosity in students as they prepare to thrive in an ever-changing world. The sense of connection and community is what makes being a Golden Knight truly special.

As we look ahead, we carry the same spirit of determination to embrace new opportunities and continue building a strong future for our schools. Together, we are prepared for growth, achievement, and a successful year ahead. Thank you for being part of our school community.

Welcome back. We’re so glad you’re here!

Sincerely,

Dr. Cheryl J. Richard
