Holland Patent Students Perform at Winter Orchestra Concert
From strings to sleigh bells, Holland Patent Central School District presented its annual Winter Orchestra Concert on Dec. 3. The program featured performances by the Concertino Strings, Sinfonia Orchestra and High School Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Shawn DePalma.
The Concertino Strings opened the program with “Cripple Creek,” arranged by Philips, Lenhart, and Philips, “Icicles” by Todd Parrish and “North Pole March” by Chris Thomas. Performers included Violin I: Nicholas Brenning, Lucus Crowe, Tanner Grant and Sawyer Wengert; Violin II: Amelia Raubenolt, Payton Meeker, Emily Preble, Adalyn Tabor, Cora Moore and Amelia Williams; Viola: Abigail Kaido and Drake Hall; Cello: Ann Hovey, Freemon Williams and Juniper Ostrander; and Bass: Kenzy Quesnell, Andrew Bunker and Forest Sann.
The Sinfonia Orchestra followed with “Holiday Remix” by Kathryn Greisinger, “Jingle Bell Rock” by Beal and Booth, arranged by Elliot Del Borgo, and “Dragonhunter” by Richard Meyer. Performers included Violin I: Norah Bulson and Clara Poland; Violin II: Emma Francisco, Caden Walter, Lucus Crowe and Tanner Grant; Viola: Jalayna Fox and Skylar Staley; Cello: Annie Bamberger; Bass: Evan Kenny, Addison Rudnitski, Forest Sann and Jarret VanNamee; Guitar: Amber Vanhatten; Piano: Evan Kenny; and Percussion: Evangaline Dousharm.
The High School Chamber Orchestra closed the evening with “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Pola and Wyle, arranged by Bob Cerulli, “Hanukkah Habanera,” arranged by Tim McCarrick, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” by Martin and Blane, arranged by Calvin Custer, and “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” by Brooks, arranged by Bob Cerulli. Performers included Violin I: Holly Buchanan-Wise, Elizabeth Buckland and Jacob Dobreski; Violin II: Kailey Raubenolt and Nathaniel Shikula; Viola: Grace Bunker and Morgan Race; Cello: Rachel Gerrard-Smith; and Bass: Mason Erny, Abigael Stevens and Brett VanNamee.
The concert highlighted the talent and dedication of Holland Patent’s musicians and brought the community together.
