Mrs. Carroll's ninth-grade students learned about "Our Responsibility to Help Others" this year. After reading Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol students reflected on how they could apply the story's meaning locally.

Students researched local charities, competing with one another before selecting the Mohawk Valley  Community Action Agency (MVCAA) to support as a class. They then wrote charity campaign letters to  family and friends asking for donations to support the organization.

Students visited MVCAA, meeting with Director Amy Turner, and several other organization leaders to  experience firsthand the services this organization has to offer and to present the donation of $775 raised by these future change-makers.
