Tuning Up for Teaching Excellence

Holland Patent Central School District music teachers fine-tune their craft and compose new ideas to bring back to the classroom. On Oct. 10, music teachers from across the region participated in the Music Educators Conference Day held at Vernon-Vernona-Sherrill (VVS) Central School. The event brought together educators for a day of professional development, collaboration and inspiration.

The conference featured keynote speaker Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, whose message on music education energized attendees. Throughout the day, music teachers engaged in a variety of workshops focused on vocal and instrumental content gaining new strategies and ideas to enhance their teaching. Composer Jim Papoulis also led several sessions, sharing his creative process and offering hands-on experiences.

“We believe in fostering a culture of continuous learning among our teachers. Opportunities like this conference empower our educators to grow professionally, network with colleagues and apply new strategies in their teaching,” said Holland Patent Principal Russ Stevener.

The Holland Patent music department is excited to apply these new insights and techniques in the classroom, enriching the musical experience for students across the district.
