Unstoppable: FBLA Excels at States with Top-Four Finishes

The Holland Patent Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter put their business knowledge to the test at the State Leadership Competition, earning multiple top-four finishes and qualifying three students for the Nationals FBLA Leadership Competition in San Antonio.

Students in grades 9 through 12 spent the school year preparing for competitive events that mirror real-world business scenarios. Under the guidance of advisers Tyler Carroll and Sean Clark, the team strengthened skills in communication, leadership, technology, entrepreneurship and problem-solving.

This year’s competition challenged students across a wide range of business-related topics, including public speaking, project management, cybersecurity, journalism, marketing and business strategy.

Competition results:

Elizabeth Buckland – second place in computer problem solving and fourth place in job interview

Thomas Howard – fourth place in agribusiness

Izzy Walters – second place in network design

The students advancing to nationals will represent Holland Patent at the FBLA National Leadership Conference this summer.
