Young People’s Concert Strikes a Chord with Elementary Students

The Young People's Concert didn’t miss a beat as high school musicians introduced younger students to instruments and singing that shapes every performance. The annual concert was held on Tuesday, March 10, at the Holland Patent High School auditorium, welcoming elementary students from General William Floyd Elementary and Holland Patent Elementary to experience live performances. The Wind Ensemble, High School Mixed Chorus, and High School Orchestra each performed, giving younger students a chance to experience the district’s music program.

The event was designed to introduce students to concert etiquette, help them learn about the three major high school ensembles and enjoy live performances in an engaging, interactive setting. Directors and student musicians demonstrated how each group works together, highlighted different instruments and voices, and encouraged students to tune in closely throughout the program. 

The concert not only showcased the talent of Holland Patent’s high school musicians but also inspired future performers.
