Learning Through Giving: Students Support ICAN
As part of their study on "Our Responsibility to Provide Care to Others," Mrs. Carroll’s ninth-grade English class took their learning beyond the classroom to make a real difference.
After reading A Christmas Carol and discussing the importance of helping others, students took action by researching local charities and collectively choosing to support ICAN through a community service project. They wrote heartfelt charity campaign letters to family and friends requesting donations and worked together to collect hygiene products. Their efforts resulted in an impressive $450 raised, along with numerous essential hygiene items to donate.
Students personally delivered their donations, toured ICAN’s facility and gained a deeper understanding of the vital services the organization provides to the community. Their experience highlighted the true spirit of giving and service.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported this initiative. Your generosity helped make this project a success!
Fantastic job, students! Your compassion and dedication to making a positive impact is truly inspiring!
