Third Graders Take a Musical Journey Around the World!
On March 27, Holland Patent third-grade students took the audience on a global adventure during their annual spring concert, held in the Holland Patent High School auditorium. Inspired by their social studies lessons on continents and oceans, the concert celebrated music and cultures from around the world.
Under the direction of music teacher Mrs. Gutowski, the students performed a vibrant collection of songs that celebrated cultures from every corner of the globe. Audience members enjoyed singing, dancing and learning about music during our opening song “Big World, Small World.”
The setlist featured songs from all seven continents, along with the subcontinent of India and the Caribbean Sea. In total, students performed 11 songs in both English and a variety of world languages, including Hindi, Spanish, Japanese, French, Yoruba, Meriam Mìr and German.
A special thank you to Mrs. Gutowski for her dedication and creativity, and to all the families and staff who joined us for this joyful evening filled with music and cultural discovery.
