HPHS Students Showcase STEM Skills at AFRL Challenge Competition

From April 21-25, Holland Patent was well represented by seniors Henry King and Nick Race at the Griffiss Institute Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Challenge Competition.

Over five days, these talented students applied their math and science expertise to solve a complex, real-world problem mirroring the cutting-edge research of AFRL personnel. They were tasked with using AI to create an algorithm that could identify 77 different kinds of aircraft.

Henry and Nick's hard work and dedication culminated in a superb presentation of their research, earning them second place in the competition and $2,000 in college savings contributions.

The entire Holland Patent Central School District celebrates Henry and Nick's success and thanks Mr. Reilley for his outstanding support and coaching during the weeklong competition.
