On May 18, the Holland Patent Varsity Baseball and Softball teams proudly represented the District at the 3rd Annual "Oneida County Stop DWI Classic," held at Hamilton College. This meaningful event brought together student-athletes from across the county to compete while promoting the vital message of preventing driving while intoxicated.

The Holland Patent Baseball team had a strong showing, and pitcher Auggie Jones was deservedly named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game. His outstanding performance on the mound was a key factor in the team's efforts.

Additionally, Softball catcher Gabriel Way was recognized for her exemplary conduct and received the Sportsmanship Award for the Softball portion of the Classic. This award highlights Gabriel's commitment to fair play and respect, both on and off the field.

The Holland Patent Central School District extends its sincere congratulations to both Auggie and Gabriel for these well-deserved honors. Their achievements reflect their talent, dedication and positive character.

The District also wishes to express its gratitude to Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. and all the dedicated organizations that collaborated to make the 3rd Annual "Oneida County Stop DWI Classic" a success. This important event serves as a powerful platform to raise awareness about the dangers of driving while intoxicated and underscores the commitment of our community to safety and responsible decision-making.
