Places

Places

Far away some time ago

There was a place I’d used to go

With golden leaves that laced the trees

And views filled with bright blue seas.

Far away some time ago

There was a place I’d used to go

Where soft white snow coated the ground,

There was no noise no hint of a sound.

Far away some time ago

There was a place I’d used to go

With people full of smiling faces,

Holding your hand and taking you places,

Wrapping you up in warm embraces.

Far away some time ago,

There was a place I’d used to go,

With warm sunny skies,

Where nobody cries

Where nobody hurts

And nobody dies.

Now I don’t know where those places have gone,

So much has changed,

So much has gone wrong.

But whenever I’m sad,

And the day feels too long,

I think of these places,

And why I belong.

Our lives might not be good all the time,

But we need to stop whining

And continue the climb.

Far away some time ago,

There was a place I’d used to go.

That place is here

That time was now

And now seeing it differently,

This place is the same exact place

I saw before.
