April 17, 2020 Message from Superintendent Evangelist

April 17, 2020

Based on Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.18, the school closure will be extended through May 15, 2020.  With this current order in place, we anticipate schools will be opened on or about May 18, 2020.  We will be sending home a letter updating our school community on important information regarding on-line learning, grading, report cards and the Regent’s Exams and credits.

Please keep in mind all District facilities, (including playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, parking lots, etc.) are closed to the public.  The closure of these facilities is to implement social distancing in all situations and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

We are continuing to provide grab and go meals (bagged lunch and breakfast) at our High School loading dock (behind the cafeteria) location between the hours of 10:00 am- 12:00pm.  If you cannot pick up, please call (315) 865-7242 or email Cliff Casab, Manager of Food Service, at to have food delivered and left at your front door.

If you are an essential employee and in need of childcare, please contact the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison Child Care Resource Center at 315-223-7850 extension 222 or email

Thank you again for all the positive feedback we have been receiving.  Our District remains dedicated to meeting our students’ and community needs.  We continue to evaluate our District protocols and make adjustments as needed.  This has been a very trying time for everyone and knowing we are part of such a caring and committed community helps all of us get through this together.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (315) 865-6185 or email me at  Thank you for your support and stay safe.
