Welcome to Earth Science. This year we will be studying the origin and age of the Earth and solar system, the size and true shape of planet Earth, its rocks, minerals and resources, its water and atmosphere, and its rich, fascinating history, as well as earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics and weather!
My mantra: " Earth science is what happens to real people in real places." We will be incorporating current events; when possible, local current events, to illustrate that what we learn in the classroom is applicable to life as inhabitants of the planet
This year, I am also teaching Living Environment. In this course, we will focus on living things: their structures, functions, origin and evolution, and their interaction with the surrounding environment.
Please don't get lost in these courses! I am available for help before and after school, during labs and planning periods. Come and see me if you don't understand something.
