I knew in second grade (many years ago) that I wanted to be just like my teacher, Miss Allen, when I grew up. She inspired me to read books and always do my best. I never lost that dream and here I am, 22 years into a career that still makes me excited to come to work everyday.
I began my career in the Adirondack School District, where I taught grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. After a short break to stay home with my children, I began teaching at Holland Patent at GWF as a reading teacher. I spent many years there working as a reading teacher, literacy coach, and second grade teacher. I am now lucky enough to be in the high school, working on reading and writing skills with my students.
I am married to Brian Healey and we have two amazing children. Nathan is 17 and Anna is 15. I enjoy reading (of course!), as well as biking and camping.
